Lower Broad, Nashville (Acrylic 8/10 ) *SOLD

Late afternoon on Lower Broad in Nashville. The red building is the Decades club sans tacky sign.

Chris.. nice color triad - not to be confused with tirade! This talks to me more than a highly detailed view of the same scene. Keeping it simple to make room for the subtle. I see this work and I'm in a better mood and I'm there.

Oh yeah looking at it again reminds me of this little town in AZ. where I used to live and love. Clarkdale... may you ever remain tiny and unnoticed!

Thanks. We were sitting in Mike's Ice Cream and Coffee shop just as the sun was going down when I took my shot. After a couple sips the light was gone. The vacant ochre building was a furniture shop, I believe.

I love the lighting. I could tell right away what time of day it was.

Chris, Great colour and a fine design in this one! I love the way the red of the building PoPs against the blue sky... reminds me of a building around the corner here in Toronto on a sunny day.

Nice work, great color. You should paint cityscapes more often. You clearly have a feel for it. Have you seen William Wray's blog? He's great at that.

Ed, I like Will's work a lot. I am working on some cityscapes for an upcoming exhibit the Chestnut Group (A Tennessee painting society) is having at the Tennesse Art League building.

The color is almost too intense, but it works and has a real modern feel. Pushing color this hard takes a pair--well done.
