This is looking down the street across from the Frist Museum in Nashville TN. Runs in front of the Cummins building. A good exercise in 1 point perspective.

This is a view across a field of Cool Cprings last winter. I believe I was on Liberty Pike. That long brick building on the left is SprawlMart across the interstate. It was a cold day and there was still frost in the shadows. As William Moore said quote "Gouache is good".

We took the Jack Daniels distillery tour on June 22. They take the group pictures and archive them on their site. That's me in the back center in the maroon shirt and the lovely lady in from of me in green is D. (Kitty stayed at home). Jack was consumed and enjoyed that evening.

I painted this oil from my pencil sketch. (March archive) Winter was almost over when I sketched it but it was the first day of spring when I painted it. This is off Charlotte Pike in Nashville right across from the big blue storage building. Available at Local Palette Gallery in Lynchburg TN. http://localpalettegallery.com/

Driving around the hill country here in Tennessee I make mental notes of what I see. (Can't stop at every good subject, I never would get home.) Later on I will draw the scenes in my sketch book. Heck, it may be months before I jot it down. I figured this one would be a good one to watercolor. It was a chilly morning last early October and I was out and about...

An old PA I touched up last night. This was done several years ago. I believe it is near Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. I want to get back over to the mountains in the fall and paint some more.

This is the College Grove Grocery in College Grove Tennessee. It was a hot day and it was a good place to stop for a cold drink on our way to Lynchburg. (Jack Daniels country) Looks like they had some good baked goods and the folk working there were friendly.
A farm in the Viola Tennessee area. That mountain range is the start of the Cumberland Plateau. Fall Creek Falls State Park is pretty close by as is McMinnville and Beersheeba Springs. Word up to Middle Tennessee painters, This area is worth the short drive for some great subject matter. Lieper's Fork has been over painted.

This country church in in Triune Tennessee. I don't remember if it is Methodist or Baptist. I saw it on my way to College Grove and had to paint it with the late afternoon sun shining on it.
