Nashville Street (Gouache 9x7) $80

This is looking down the street across from the Frist Museum in Nashville TN. Runs in front of the Cummins building. A good exercise in 1 point perspective.

I stopped by the little park on Granny White Pike Wednesday and sketched the war memorial statue from my car. I rolled down the windows so some plein air could get in, so I guess this could be considered a plein air sketch. ;-)

Cool Springs View (gouache 9x5) *SOLD*

This is a view across a field of Cool Cprings last winter. I believe I was on Liberty Pike. That long brick building on the left is SprawlMart across the interstate. It was a cold day and there was still frost in the shadows. As William Moore said quote "Gouache is good".

Linoleum Block Print

I tried my hand at a linoleum block print. This is a barn in Williamson county I pass by when I go to Cool Springs from LaVergne.

Jack Daniels

We took the Jack Daniels distillery tour on June 22. They take the group pictures and archive them on their site. That's me in the back center in the maroon shirt and the lovely lady in from of me in green is D. (Kitty stayed at home). Jack was consumed and enjoyed that evening.

Mountain Stream (Acrylic 11/14) $80

This is outside Sylva NC. The Sylva, Waynesville area is one of my favorite places. My friend Dr. Roy Williams and his wife Julia live in Waynesville. Check out his book "When Opposites Dance". I drew the pictures in it.

Spring Alley (oil 7x5) $120

I painted this oil from my pencil sketch. (March archive) Winter was almost over when I sketched it but it was the first day of spring when I painted it. This is off Charlotte Pike in Nashville right across from the big blue storage building. Available at Local Palette Gallery in Lynchburg TN. http://localpalettegallery.com/

Middle Tennessee Barn (wc 7x10) *SOLD*

Driving around the hill country here in Tennessee I make mental notes of what I see. (Can't stop at every good subject, I never would get home.) Later on I will draw the scenes in my sketch book. Heck, it may be months before I jot it down. I figured this one would be a good one to watercolor. It was a chilly morning last early October and I was out and about...

North Carolina Mountain (oil 8x10) $60

An old PA I touched up last night. This was done several years ago. I believe it is near Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. I want to get back over to the mountains in the fall and paint some more.

Old Farmhome *SOLD*

Look around and you will notice all the old farms and homes are dissappearing. This one I painted last winter just got bulldozed to make way for a subdivision. Caruthers Road was a pretty drive in Lavergne. Not any more...

Nice View (watercolor 9.5x7) $60

A nice view of the Tennessee landscape. That's D. making an appearance in another painting. This was a nice shady spot on a hot day.

College Grove Grocery *SOLD*

This is the College Grove Grocery in College Grove Tennessee. It was a hot day and it was a good place to stop for a cold drink on our way to Lynchburg. (Jack Daniels country) Looks like they had some good baked goods and the folk working there were friendly.

Viola Tennessee Farm (oil 16/8) $110

A farm in the Viola Tennessee area. That mountain range is the start of the Cumberland Plateau. Fall Creek Falls State Park is pretty close by as is McMinnville and Beersheeba Springs. Word up to Middle Tennessee painters, This area is worth the short drive for some great subject matter. Lieper's Fork has been over painted.

Church in Triune TN (watercolor 7x10) $60

This country church in in Triune Tennessee. I don't remember if it is Methodist or Baptist. I saw it on my way to College Grove and had to paint it with the late afternoon sun shining on it.
