This is near Owensboro Kentucky. I made a quick sketch in my book and did the oil at home from memory. Almost the so called "Zorn Palette" red, yellow ochre and ivory black. (WIth Ultramarine)

Hey Chris,

The "Zorn Palette" eh? I've never had the guts to try it. I know Scott Christensen swears by Zorn. I love your sketches and to me memory work is sometimes the best because you truly only focus on what made the scene impact you.

Hey Chris,

Nice sketches, real solid. I don't know about you but for me memory work can produce the best pieces. It eliminates the non-essential and really makes you focus on what attracted you to the scene.

Thanks Greg. Like I said, I cheated and added ultramarine. (sky) On the sketches, a scribble on the spot is all you need a lot of the times.
