I did this way back in '89 when I was learning gouache. I did more figures and portraits back then. I was studying those artists in the 1950's because they really were the masters of gouache. I was going through some old folios I had in storage and I forgot I still had it. I figured maybe a pinup art fan will like this gal and will purchase the painting. Ain't she cute?

A late afternoon in the blue ridge mountains. I saw this in October and did a pencil thumbnail to lock the scene in my memory while the temperature was dropping. I painted this gouache from it.
This corner is in Lynchburg Tennessee. Home of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey. It's the Iron Kettle restaurant. Take your tour of the whiskey distillery and then get a bite to eat at the Iron Kettle. The county is dry so you will have to drive to Tullahoma to get your whiskey to drink responsibly. State Troopers will get you if you don't!

From a pencil sketch and memory. Painted in my nice warm studio last night while kitty was meowing. Paint some, pet cat, play keyboards while layer dries, paint some more and repeat steps. Works well for me.
