Fun to paint but thankfully I did not have to use this outhouse. It's near Sylva NC if you are out there and have to go.

Happy Thanksgiving

I stole this quote Today's Inpiration Blog...

"In this friendly, freedom-loving land of ours - Beer belongs... enjoy it!"

Sweet! Yes indeed....

Shop Front in St Augustine (acrylic 5x7) *SOLD*

It was a bright sunny day in St Augustine. A good time to visit the St. Augustine shops and buy something. A sunny day subject to warm you in the winter.

Carolina TallScape (acrylic 4x12) *SOLD*

Stop, sketch and paint it later. A different format for me. I piled on the paint thick. Golden gel medium is a good thing.

Blue Ridge Morning (acrylic 5x7) *SOLD*

Speaking of good subject matter, I made a trip to The North Carolina to visit some friends in Waynesville a couple weeks ago and saw plenty. The Blue Ridge mountains and Parkway were there waiting for me and the Mazda P5. This one is based on a dawn sketch somewhere in the mountains, memory and my photo reference for the sky.

Caney Fork Farmscene (acrylic 5x7 panel) $80

This is is near Centerhill Lake and the Caney Fork River in Middle Tennessee. I liked it because it was old and dusty, plus the sun was shining on it. The Centerhill lake area is chock-full of good subject matter for you artistes. You don't have to look hard. Heck, there is so much subject matter here in Middle Tennessee it will make you sick. ;-)

Dusk (acrylic 6/8) $80

I drove to the store one evening at dusk with the moon out and the business lights just coming on. The cows were doing their thing. I locked the scene in my memory and painted it before I went to bed. I always like the light at this time of day. (Painted 1/7/07)
