Brick Buildings in Nashville (oil 8/10 panel SOLD

Started the sketch outside (en plein air I think they say) and I finished it from memory the next day. It's behind the Lifeway building off 9th I think. I can't remember those road numbers. One of these buildings was an old piano store. I think they are abandoned or hobos stay in them. I did see a rat.

Hello Spring (oil on canvas panel 5/7 $75)

I painted this oil from my pencil sketch I described below. Winter was almost over when I sketched it but it was the first day of spring when I painted it. This is off Charlotte Pike in Nashville right across from the big blue storage building. Email me the title if you want to buy it.

Sketches

Had a good time jamming with my friend Matt Bach yesterday at his studio. He sure can play guitar well, even over my crappy organ and Moog lead. ;-) I got there a little early and sketched these scenes from my car. I just did a oil of the little sketch on the left. There is a dogwood tree in bloom at the end of the road.

Snow Scene (gouache 10/4.5 $75

I was watching TV and saw some snow scenes. I sketched some and then did this gouache from my notes. If interested in buying, email me. I've got my subject matter ready for the TAL/Chestnut show so I've got some painting to do.

Gouache Sketches (7/6ish scrap)

Mucked around with my gouaches before bedtime. The moon is from the memory banks. Full moon by a lake I saw a good while ago. The town lights were glowing on the horizon. Looks like that mountain is another version of the acrylic I did way down the page. I don't know what the hell the firey blob is above it. I want to work on more stuff but I am getting sleepy. I have a tendency to stay up too late.

Loading Dock (Gouache 4/6) $60

Another version of the loading dock or shipping dock, whatever it's called. This is in gouache on Cresent illustration board. I saw Shane White's gouaches on his site and it inspired me to pick them back up. He has some excellent gouache paintings of Thailand. Email me the title if you want to buy it.

Shoes

I liked this gal's shiny shoes so I drew them.

Jokers (watercolor)

I was on my way home from downtown Nashville via Murfreesboro and saw these 2 men by a red trashcan joking around while I was stopped at a light. Can't sketch when the light is green and the camera was in the back so I made a mental snapshot and sketched it at home after supper.
